About
Who writes Fewer Rooms, and how the guides are made.
About
Fewer Rooms is a small independent site about one decision: what to do with a family home once the family has grown up and left. It covers the whole process in order, from deciding whether to move at all to making a smaller place work.
Who is behind it
Fewer Rooms is edited by Jhan Hoppmann Berral, working independently. It is not owned by a real estate agency, a moving company or a storage business, and nobody pays to be mentioned in a guide.
How the guides are made
Each guide starts from a question real people ask when they downsize. Drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools, then checked, corrected and rewritten by the editor before anything is published. Guides are updated when advice changes, and the date at the top shows the last revision.
Nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice. Selling a home has consequences that depend on where you live and your own circumstances, so check the numbers with a qualified professional before you act on them.
